respectively. 1840 census indicates born in Va. I aminterested
in proving they are indeed brothers and would like to know
parent's name. In 1850 Smith Co Tn census there is a Letty
Balkman, female, age 75 living with Christopher Balkman and

David 5,. STEP, Lee 25, s-i-l, Elizabeth 17, daughter. PRUET,
William B. 16, b-in-law. Dave ADAMS born 2 Jan 1877, died 18
April 1910, buried in the Cookeville City Cemetery. Is this the
David Adams of this family? Where did the rest of the family go
and what happened to them?. Dave was first married to a Grime

- Does anyone have any info on AUGUSTINE LEE and Rachel
Nickols Lee. Augustine was born about 1800 and died 1848.
HEZEKIAH LEE is said to be his father. They came from
Wentworth, Rockingham Co., N.C. to Tennessee around 1820 or
little later. Hezekiah had a house and lot in Livingston and
Augustine had about 1000 acres on Walton Road in Standing Stone
Community.

etc) of Monsieur Cooper (1874 - 1948), son of Timothy W. Cooper
(1834 - 1905) and Virginia Beasley (1837 - 1905). Monsieur's
siblings were Sarah R. Cooper (born 1857), Virginia E. Cooper
(born 1862), William J. Cooper (born 1868), Mary M. Cooper
(born 1872), Claude Cooper (born 1876) and John Cooper (born
1879). Monsieur was born at Stonewall, Tennessee, a community
in Smith County. Monsieur Cooper married Pearl Mary Apple (born
Putnam County, TN in 1881 - died 1907 - buried Chestnut Mound
Methodist Church Cemetary). Pearl was the daughter of Robert
Gaines Apple and Ada McDearman Apple. After Pearl's death,
Monsieur Cooper married Maybelle Knight, daughter of Elijah
Haynie Knight. I'm also looking for any further information on
Pearl Mary Apple's family, parents, siblings, anything extra.
Monsieur Cooper moved from Chestnut Mound, Smith County, TN to

YOUNG
- Seeking information about Samuel M. YOUNG (b 1820) and wife
Martha (b. abt 1831) of Putnam Co, married bef 1858. Samuel was
a drygoods merchant. He is in the 1880 census and 1891 voter
list. I'm trying to determine Martha's maiden name, and year of
death for Samuel and Martha. Children were Susan YOUNG (b.
1862, m. E.K. COOK), James YOUNG (b abt 1865) and Anthony H.
YOUNG (b. 1858, m. Alice BOYEN).

Choate c1873. Alcy & Sarah both in Putnam Co. census 1880,
1910 & 1920. No findings of them in death certificates
after 1920. They were parents of Annie who m Martin Phy, Edward
Pate m Tennie Choate, Joseph Washington, Samuel Asberry &
Mary Lou who m a Jones. I descend from Edward & Tennie but

- Looking for any information on the parents of Martha Jane
Wilkerson Lynch (b. May 26, 1881; d. Apr 5, 1916). Putnam
County death certificate indicates her father was W. N.
Wilkerson and her mother was Martha McCaleb/McKaleb? Martha
Jane Wilkerson and Abe Lynch were married in Smith County, TN
(Carthage) on Sept 24, 1897. Abe Lynch was from Sullivans Bend,
Chestnut Mount, TN near Carthage. Don't know were Martha Jane
Wilkerson's parents lived, but it may have been in Carthage
area also. Abe & Martha Jane Lynch moved to Buffalo Valley,
Putnam Co. TN where they lived until their respective deaths.
Their home was next door to the Buffalo Valley church of Christ
building. Any information on the parents of Martha Jane
Wilkerson Lynch would be appreciated.

- Desperately seeking info on the Steakley family. My
mother's name was Matilda Elizabeth Steakley. She was born in
Putnam County. Her father's name was Jaims Steakley and her
mother's name was Lisabeath (last known unknown). She had
sisters named Ebbie, Jane & Carrie. Brother's named James,
Milton and Charles. Ebbie married a Wm. Hamilton. At one time
they lived in the Soddy Daisy area. I've run into a brick wall
concerning her family. Any info would be greatly

JACKSON in PUTNAM in 1907, then a GARRETT, then a JOHN SAVAGE.
She went to GA. abt. 1920. She had twins by Haywood Jackson
named Bill & Willis who did not keep the JACKSON name as
adults. I think she was born in 1891. I believe her Mother to
be Elisabeth Davison and father William Kirby. It is said her
