STEWART, BROWN, MEDLIN Who are the parents of Henry Robert STEWART
who served as a private in the D company of the 1st Tennessee
Volunteers in the Civil War. Henry STEWART md Elizabeth BROWN Dec
1865. She died after childbirth in 1871. Henry then married Betty
Irene MEDLIN 17 Aug 1872. Betty was raised in an orphanage. Was
there an orphanage in Putnam county 1850-1870?

Seeking all descendants of John Henry, an early pioneer settler of
the Calfkiller area of White County, Tn., in the area that became
a part of Putnam County when Putnam was formed in 1854. John Henry
was born in Tn. prior to statehood. All descendants are encouraged
to add information to John Henry's First Families of Tennessee
folder at the East Tennessee Historical Society, Knoxville. For

I am interested in finding information on Josiah Martin KINNAIRD's
parents and brothers and sisters. Josiah was born in Putnam
County, TN July 5, 1826. He married (do not have a marriage date)
Duraney Haden in Jackson County, TN. They 11 children. Josiah died
Dec. 16, 1870 and Duraney had died Aug. 1, 1870.

Thomas Jefferson SHAW born 1808 in TN was a grocer in Putman Co.
in 1860 census; he married Mahala WILEY who was born 1810 in AL.
Their children was Joseph{killed in the War between the States }
and Artimisa who married John Francis MONTGOMERY. Who were the
parents of Thomas Jefferson SHAW and Mahala WILEY?

I am looking for any information concerning Robert Jake Helton
family, who lived in or around Sparta, TN. They moved to Oklahoma
with the Edwards family sometime around 1905 - 1910. Jake Helton's
wife's name was Tabitha Walker. They were married in Sparta, date
unknown. In all, they had two daughters and four sons. The oldest
daughter and oldest son were born in or around Sparta. Tabitha is
said to have had quiet a bit of Indian blood, but none of the
remaining brothers or siser will discuss this. Please help me if
you know anything. Thank you.

Am looking for a Levi PERKINS and Lucy RHEA. Their parents were
Ute PERKINS & Sarah "Sally" GANT and Aaron RHEA & Mary
HOWELL. Their house is said to set on the Putnam and White County
line. He was Church of Christ minister. Thanks for any help, Donna

My great-grandfather David M. Ward was born in Putnam County circa
1845. He moved to Kentucky and married Melissa Rowe in 1867, Who
were his parents, ect.? I have information on David's descendants
and will be glad to share.

I am interested in finding out any information on Elijah Cass
CROWELL and his wife, Anna Young CROWELL. Elijah Cass Crowell was
born in Mecklenburg Co., North Carolina in 1809 and died
10-28-1863 in Putnam Co.,Tennessee. Anna Young was born in 1812
and died on 3-25-1858 in Putnam Co., Tennessee. Elijah Cass
Crowell's parents were Charles Crowell, who was born in
Mecklenburg Co., NC in 1775 and died after 1850, and Elizabeth
(Don't have maiden name) Crowell, who was born in 1786 in Ireland
and died after 1860. Anna Young Crowell's parents were John Young
and Matilda Gibson Young and I have no information on their birth
dates or death dates. To my knowledge Elijah Cass Crowell and Anna
Young Crowell only had one child, Netherland Cass Crowell, born
6-1-1851 in Putnam Co., TN, died 6-23-1915, and was married to
Mary Maxwell Crowell, born 4-2-1853 and died 11-1-1910. I would
appreciate any information.
