I am looking for information on my Great Grandfather John R. RANEY . John had lived at Silver Point Putman Co. Tn. at one time . John R. RANEY had later moved to the Bowling Green Ky. area and married Abbie Emiline VICKOUS on the 22nd.day of July 1885. They had one child Sally Bell RANEY on the 1st. day of July 1894 . After the birth of his child, Sally Bell RANEY, John R. RANEY left his family and may have moved back to Putman CO. Tn. That is all of the information that I have on the RANEY family . I am searching for my ggg-grandfather. My gg-grandfather was Eligah Watson Carr b. 1836 d. 1905. He had 9 children, all Carrs as follows: HN, Settie W, NP, W Frank, Eliza Arilla, jr, George Washington, Maggie E., Eligah Harding Carr. I have not found Eligah W. Carrs grave. I believe it to be in Jackson Co. Eligah Carr was a blacksmith. Who was his father? 1838 tax records show an Eligah Carr. Jonathon Carr, Elizebeth Carr, James W. Carr, William Carr, all I believe are related. I think Jonathon may be my ggg-grandfather. If anyone should have any information on the Carr line in Jackson please let me hear from you . I have met with Maureen Patton and she has been of great help in searching family in Cookville. She believes that Johnathon may be my ggg grandfather from Jackson Co.
