I am decended from Jonathan Buck who came from PA to Carter Co, TN and then to White Co, TN, through Isaac Buck, who came to Putnam Co, TN after 1820 or so. I am looking for info on my GG-Grandfather, William Lafayette Sliger, whose daughter Lucinda Elizabeth married Erastus Hickman Buck, son of Enoch Buck, son of Isaac Buck. I am looking on any information that would deal with William Lafayette Sliger's Service in the Confederate Army. I am also interested if someone would have a picture of him. I know his daughter Dulsie Bell married J.C. Phillips and Sarah March married R.H. THompson. Both are buried in the Phillips Cemetery in Putnam Co.with Wm. Lafayette and his wife Pelina (Pine)Carr. I am looking for information on Enoch HOOPER, born 1772/73, probably in South Carolina. He later made a trip through Kentucky, settleing in Perry County. At this point, I have very little information on him. It is believed that he died in Perry County around 1848, at least prior to the 1850 census. So far I have one child listed, a Dempsey James HOOPER, born 9 Sep 1810 in Henderson County, KY. Dempsy married a Rosanna ROBERTS about 1830 in Perry County, who was born 13 Mar 1810 in TN and died about 1849 in Rusk County, TX. Dempsey then returned to Perry County and married Mary Ann POMEROY.
