WALLER,MAXWELL
- I am looking for a picture and/or any info on my
grandfather Thomas Stacey WALLER. Born 1881 died 1940. He
married my grandma Georgia MAXWELL in 1923. They had 4 children
T.J.,Vivian,Floyd {my father}and Lloyd. To help anyone remember
him Thomas was born without a right arm. He was known to work
with horses and was a great singer. I have been told he would
lead the singing in Church. He came from a large family,He
being the oldest of the children. I know he had at least 2
sisters and brothers Dexter, Monroe, George, and Allie and
maybe others that slip my mind at the time. His fathers name
was William and his mother Sarah {STEELE}? Any help would be
appreciated.

CULLOM,
BROWN
- In 1940 the Historical Records Project apparently
transcribed Tennessee Bible Records, then they were microfilmed
by the Genealogical Society of Utah in 1940. One bible that was
transcribed was the Cullom Family Bible. The provinance of the
bible was that it was owned by Mrs. R. H. Brown of Cookeville,
Tennessee and previously owned by Alvin Cullom, Livingston,
Tennessee. I would like to locate the current owner of the
bible because I believe there are errors in the transcript.
Does anyone know any of the descendants of Mrs. R. H. Brown? I
will appreciate any help you can give me.

BRASSELL,
ALLISON
- Maryville Index (Maryville, TN) April 3, 1878 The hanging
of the Brassell brothers at Cookeville, Tennessee has created a
great deal of excitement. Their names were George Andrew and
Joseph Lewis Brassell, and were hanged for the murders of
Russell and Claude Allison in the presence of a crowd of people
estimated to be 10,000 in number. George denied being connected
with the murders, but Joseph confessed his guilt. It is the
same old story of bad company, disobedience, Sabbath breaking,
whiskey and murder. Joseph made the following farewell address:
"Gentlemen and Ladies: I wish to speak a few words to you if
you will hear me. I am here to die today. And what is it for?
Murder, murder! What is the cause of it? Whiskey, bad company
and hard seeking after money. I was a reckless boy. Let me give
you some advice--let whiskey alone. Have nothing to do with
whiskey. Take warning by me. It has brought me here in this
fix, and you are all liable to be put in this condition by
following the same course. Young men,

ANDERSON
- I am researching the family of my G. Grandfather George
Hubbard ANDERSON. His family lived in Putnam County Tennessee
before the 1900's. George Anderson came to the OK Indian
Territory with his brothers Walter and Samuel and married Pearl
Bertha Hart, my Choctaw G. Grandmother. While he was living
near Soper OK in Choctaw County, he received a letter from
Putnam Co. Tennessee addressed to him and his brothers stating
that their father had died January 12, 1895 and was buried near
the front door of the family home. The letter mentions Vernie
Austin and is signed E.E. Anderson. The letter indicates that
their grandmother was still living at the time and that their
mother has already passed away. If anyone has information on
the history of this family, I would appreciate hearing from
them.
