My ggg grandparents were Alexander Stinson Rogers & Delinda
Wallis/Wallace. They married in Madison Co TN, ca. 1828. They moved
to Gasconade & Maries Cos. of MO after 1830. Alexander was
apparently well educated. He wrote a poem about the Civil War I
have a copy. He was a judge in Osage Co MO in the 1840s. He bought
and sold real estate and owned the first store in Belle, Maries Co,
MO.
Also married in Madison Co, was Alexander's sister, Elizabeth Rogers
who m. Delinda's brother, Richard Wallace. The Wallace siblings were
the children of Francis Wallace, whose estate settlement was filed in
Gasconade Co MO.
Per family history, there was Native American heritage in one or both
of these families. Any help appreciated.

My father's name was William Earl (Bill) HICKS; his father drowned
while saving one of the children. This happened in Dyer County in
the Obion River on July 3, 1926. We did not even know the date or
full name of my grandfather until a cousin died recently. My
grandfather's full name was Julius Franklin HICKS and was born August
8, 1908 or 09. From the best we know now, he was born in Madison
Co.; he was married to Ludie Lectra JONES HICKS. They moved to Dyer
co. where their 7 children were born and where my grandfather died.
We think that his parents were Azburry (?) HICKS and Ida JOHNSON
HICKS and that they may have been born and married in Madison County.
We have been told that there is Cherokee heritage. Ludie Lectra
JONES HICKS' (my paternal grandmother) parents were Annie Jane (Sui)
Richardson (born 8/11/1856), married to John Wesley JONES on May 8,
1881. John Wesley JONES was born 7/25/1850. Sarah RICHARDSON
(Annie's mother) supposedly came from North Carolina to Tennessee in
1867. An

I am looking for the African-American Manleys of Madison County
(Jackson) Tennessee. So far I have information on Harriet Manley,
who was born in 1855. Harriet's father's name was Alex, I believe.
She married Charles Manley and they had four children, one of whom
was my great grandmother, Lettie Mae Manley. Harriet also had a son
named Joe from a previous relationship. Lettie Mae Manley had four
children: Clara Bell, Susie, Ezell and Willie. I am looking for
more information on Harriet's parents and siblings. In other words,
I would like to start researching the Manleys from 1855 backwards.
Any help you may provide on the Manleys would be most appreciated.

Any info on John or Johnny Henry BROWN married to Martha
"Mattie"Adaline STEPHENS in Madison Co., TN appreciated. They had one
daughter Lela Anne BROWN and she married Henry Allen MAINORD.
The info I am seeking is where is John H. Brown buried? He was from
the Pinson, Tenn. area and is said to have been buried near the Cedar
trees in the area of what is now the Woodland Hills Golf and Country
Club area. My Great Uncle Bill Harris remembers visiting the grave
and others in earlier years before the County club. Were the stones
removed and if so, where are they stored? Since John BROWN, my
great-grandfather, died approx 1870's, his widow, Martha
STEPHENS-BROWN, then married Thomas Henderson HARRIS, and this was
the parents of William "BILL" and Bruce HARRIS. That's the tie in
and why my Great Uncle Bill knew the burial place.
Please help solve this mystery for me. Any BROWN data very much
appreciated.

Am seeking information on great-grandparents, William Thomas MORTON
and Mary Elizabeth (Mollie) FANCHER, who were married in Jackson,
Tennessee, on 9 May 1871. Mollie, whose parents came from Noxubee
County, Mississippi, was born in Union Parish, Louisiana, and was
orphaned during the Civil War. The 1870 census shows her living in
Jackson in the residence of J.R. COBURN, 39, born Virginia; wife N.A.
Coburn, 28, born Mississippi; and their daughters Y.(?) Coburn, 5,
born Mississippi, and O. Coburn, 2, born Tennessee. Mollie (listed as
M.E. Fancher) was then 16 years old. Does anyone know her
relationship to the Coburns? Was she a relative, or taking care of
their children? How and why did she get to Jackson? William Thomas
Morton was born 15 or 18 June, 1847, in Marshall County, Tennessee.
What was he doing in Jackson in 1871? Would appreciate any leads.
