OWEN, BRAY
I am researching my great grandfather's family. His name was Francis Corn Wallace OWEN, born in Denmark, Madison Co., Tennessee on 6 May 1822, son of Jesse OWEN and Nancy BRAY. Siblings were: William, Jesse, John, Susan, Lauren, and Agnes OWEN. Francis (Frank) moved to Missouri with his father in 1834 and settled on the Gasconade River in Osage Co., Missouri. Frank married Elizabeth Jane BRANSON. He died in Rolla, Phelps Co., Missouri on 7 Jan 1910. The town of Owensville, Missouri was named after him, the decision of the town's name being the outcome of a horseshoe match! I don't know what happened to the rest of his family--siblings or mother--as the information I have only states he and his father came to Missouri. I would be interested in corresponding with anyone doing research on the OWEN family. Sally Lyons McAlear SallyMcAlear@MissouriState.eduElizabeth Brown Mon. 10 Nov 1997
