The RAINEY/RANEY/RAINY family and the widow Mary (MORGAN)
RAINEY/RANEY left Rown Cnty. NC after 1820 but before 1830 and
migrated to West TN. Where did she and her children settle? In my
great-grandfather's (Robert Granderson RAINEY/RANEY) autobiography
written for the Methodist Church of which he was a minister, he said
his father died in Rowan Cnty. NC when he was an infant and that his
mother brought him to West TN. Robert Granderson married Terry
BUTLER 28 Nov 1843; the family is shown on the 1850 Madison Cty. TN
census, 3 children; they had 4 children. Many of the MORGANS and
RAINEYs migrated to TN. I am trying to find where Mary Morgan RAINEY
and her children settled in TN (my guess is Madison Cnty.); did Mary
MORGAN RAINEY remarry? Where did she die and where is she buried?
Cannot locate her on any census. Also trying to locate any

3-14-1856. Robert Granderson remarried Mary Y. WALSH near Purdy, TN,

Searching for decendants of ELIZA BARBER and JAMES WILLIAM LARUE.
ELIZA BARBER was married to my grandfather, JAMES WILLIAM (BILL)
LARUE born in 1850. It is believed they had 2 sons named George and
Ike and possibly a daughter named Molly LaRue. Any information will
be appreciated.
James William LaRue was my grandfather. He was married 3 times. He was
married to my grandmother, Josephine Westbrook in Madison County. My dad was
born in 1877. I also found out that he was married to Eliza Barber and
Frances Stevens in your county. I believe that he had some of those children
by each wife, that's why I seperated the three. There is real confusion in my
family, because my mothers mother married one of the half brothers after her
husband was killed. My mother's mother was named Willet and she Married one
of these LaRue half brother's and I believe in the same county. Therefore, my
mother Susie Beatrice Willet had sons named LaRue and half brothers named
LaRue. I did not even put in a query for my grandmother (a Willet and a
LaRue) or my mother (a willet and a LaRue) yet.
