BAILEY, DUNNAHOE
Searchg for info abt incident: My grandmother was b. as Flora Elizabeth Bailey in Madison Co, TN 10 October 1909 in Jackson. She was b. to Zebediah Bailey and Letaw Dunnahoe Bailey. Family lore has a fire happening when my grandmother was six months old & my g-grandmother was badly burned and near death. . g-grandmother was "taken" away to her parents house to recover along with my grandmother. Somehow, my g-grandmothers brothers told Zebediah Bailey that Letaw had died, and apparently he believed them. He either thought the baby was dead too, or allowed the other family to raise the child, Flora Elizabeth. Anyway, this family took my grandmother & went across state lines to AL I think & changed her name to Dovie Louise. They also always told her (and she told us) her birthday was 1910. They changed their story after I found the census records. Does anyone remember this incident? Does anyone know what happened? Zebediah never remarried. Another email address: Waxhwdpatt@aol.com.

DOLLAR
Sarah DOLLAR found in the 1840 Madison Co., TN census had a son believed to be John Wesley DOLLAR (males10-15: 1). Is there a way to discover whose widow she is? Would her husband have been alive in the area in the 1830 census? Is there a mortality index for the time frame? Is she still in Madison Co. in 1850 etc.? Thanks.
