Family researchers, Mark Strickler and Ila Hamilton supplied the following information:

Isaac Hamilton Sr. was born ca. 1791 and died before 1858. His first wife was Lucinda Hale, b. 5 May 1791 and d. before 1835, daughter of Ann Chase and George Hale III. (George is buried in the George Hale Cemetery.) Isaac’s second wife was Nancy Ann Gott, b. ca 1801 and d. 18 Jan 1882. They were married 25 Jun 1835 and were the parents of Isaac H. Hamilton Jr, who is buried in this cemetery.

Isaac H. Hamilton drew a Confederate Civil War pension for service with the nitre bureau.

Isaac and Eliza’s son, James A. Hamilton lived in the home place at which this cemetery is located until the house burned. James was a carpenter and wagon maker, as was his father. Later he served as an undertaker and casket maker. James is buried in the Boone’s Creek Church of Christ Cemetery.

Charles B. Carey is assumed to be son of William M. and Mary E. Hamilton Carey based on circumstantial evidence.   In the 1900 census, Mary was listed as having had one child who was deceased.  Mary was daughter of Isaac Jr. and Eliza Hamilton. William and Mary married in 1879, and they are buried in the Highland Church of Christ Cemetery.

Identities for the other two graves (“A. H.” and “Unknown”) are not known for sure, but a few possibilities might be:

     1) Nancy Ann Gott Hamilton, mother of Isaac H. Hamilton.  Nancy was living with Isaac in 1870 and was listed as an invalid. She is supposed to have died in 1882, although she has not been located in the 1880 census.

     2) Mary A. Murray Hamilton, first wife of James A. Hamilton (son of Isaac H. Hamilton).  They married in 1877, and she had died by 1880.

     3) Abigail Jenkins Hamilton, widow of John Hamilton (half-brother of Isaac H. Hamilton).  She died after 1880.
