DEEDS – Two deeds have been found that specifically mention “John Longmire Family Graveyard”. Deed Book 102, Page 112 (1909) – Anna Johnson and A. R. Johnson to Nancy A. Culbert and Deed Book 134, Page 290 (1911 & 1918) – Nancy A. Culbert to Hattie H. Kinnick both except the graveyard from conveyance. Plotting the metes and bounds found that the parcel overlays the area in the vicinity of 693 and 715 Princeton Road, Johnson City. Carrying deeds forward, including refined surveys, verify this location.
Carrying the deeds back are Deed Book 80, Page 279 (1901) – D. W. & Lizzie Shipley to Anna L. Johnson. Deed Book 78, Page 434 (1900) – John L Longmire to D. W. & Lizzie Shipley. Deed Book 55, Pages 189 thru 190 (1888) – William & Triphenia Longmire to John L. Longmire. And, Deed Book 54, Page 77 (1887) – Estate of John & Elizabeth Mallone to Triphenia Longmire. Elizabeth’s (1786-1857) marker is found located in the burial ground.
Additional deeds reviewed were Deed Book 207, Page 484 (1939), Deed Book 220, Page 121, Deed Book 305, Page 455 and Deed Book 305, Page 457 (1957), Deed Book 313, Page 92 (1957), Deed Book 348, Page 553 (1962), and Deed Book 420, Page 188 (1968).
