The D.A.R. has placed a marker to Darling Jones, a Revolutionary War veteran. Neighbors seem to think that members of a Bayless family are buried here, but we have not been able to get any further information.

Darling Jones (1764-1848) was the son of Lewis Jones and Elizabeth Arnold Jones of Wake County, NC. He married 1st in North Carolina, Nancy J. Nelson (1766-1843), daughter of William Nelson. They had three children: Rebecca Jones, William B. Jones and Henry Jones. He married 2nd, Nancy Huff (1816-1902). They had six children: Darling Jones, Jr., Lewis Jones, William Henry Jones, Isaac Jones, Alfred Jones and James Jones. Darling and Nancy Huff Jones lived in a cabin home located near the Clinchfield Railway and the Asbury Bridge. The cabin was moved to the Girl Scout Camp on Oakland Avenue in Johnson City where it is used as an office building.
