Inducted into WWI at Selmer, TN. (McNairy Co.) on Oct. 3, 1917.
He was a Private in Company A, 117th Infantry Regiment of the 30th Division.  His military ID# was 1 306 827.
He was wounded in the neck and left arm by gun shot shrapnel on Oct. 9, 1918, in the battle for St. Quentin and then was an Honorable Discharge on July 23, 1919 from Ft. Oglethorpe, GA.
