DEEDS – An abbreviated deed chronology.  These transactions were for parcels more acreage than just the burial ground, however each did surround the burial ground.
Deed Book 33, Page 303 (1852) – John Lyle to Absolum Scott.
Deed Book 45, Page 275 (1877) – Absolum Scott estate heirs to William T. Leach
Deed Book 46, Page 43 (1877) –William T. Leach to John Leach
Deed Book 49, Page 189 (1883) – John Leach to Landon Leach
Deed Book 209, Page 156 (1937) – The heirs of Landon Leach to Daisy Leach Slagle (Mrs. Ernest Slagle and daughter of Landon Leach).
Deed Book 332, Page 637 (1960) – Harry T. Slagle (son of Ernest) to Lanny Slagle (son of Harry).  This deed specifies conveyance by will from Ernest to Harry – a copy of the will was not retrieved.  Also, in this conveyance, Harry retained a life estate.
Deed Book 585, Page 436 (1983) – Lanny Slagle relinquishes his interest back to his father, Harry.  After Harry’s death, and through a series of estate settlement procedures, the entire Harry Thurman Slagle property was divided into several parcels during a 2009 survey.  The parcel including this burial ground was conveyed to Lanny Slagle by the administrator and the deed recorded at Roll 650, Image 1619. However, the burial ground was excepted, at the request of Lanny Slagle, and remained in Harry Thurman Slagle. The specific metes & bounds of the burial ground were called out for the first time within the deed trail in this last deed.  This leaves the ownership of the burial ground somewhat clouded.
