Located in the Broylesville Community behind the house at 3356 Old State Route 34, Limestone, Tennessee. Only one marker.

Frederick Garst II born in Pennsylvania in 1784, died at Broylesville, Tennessee 1852. He built a brick mansion house one mile east of Limestone on the banks of Little Limestone Creek. He came to Tennessee in 1832. Frederick II married Susannah Eller in 1809. They had 11 children born in Virginia. Susannah died in 1827 and he married Sarah Frantz in 1829. They reared 10 children, 9 of whom were born in Tennessee.

From The History of Washington County, Tennessee, 1988 by the Watauga Association of Genealogists, pp.73-74: Frederick Garst, II, with a large family, emigrated from near Salem, Virginia, in 1840. He built a substantial brick house on Little Limestone Creek, Washington County, Tennessee. He was a man of influence in the church and community. He was the father of twenty-one children by two marriages. He gave each child a farm and a number of them had brick dwelling houses. He died in 1850 and is buried near his home in one of the most substantial limestone rock vaults in East Tennessee. Taken from the writings of the Reverend Reuel B. Pritchett.
