Former Resident Dies In Texas

James William Bennett, former resident of Warren county, died in Dallas, Texas Friday afternoon at 5:30 o’clock, following a heart attack suffered five hours earlier. The body was returned here for burial with funeral services held Monday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at the parlors of High Funeral Home. John W. High officiated and burial was in Riverside cemetery. A native of White county, Mr. Bennett was born January 1, 1880. He was a son of Fate Bennett and Phoebe Smith Bennett and he was married to Miss Martha Alice Kines December 23, 1898. She died September 13, 1952.

Mr. Bennett was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, Fate Bennett, Manchester, and Dave Bennett, Detroit, Mich.; five daughters, Mrs. Lela Cope and Mrs. G.A. Tenfel, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Grace Hillis and Mrs. J.K. Stranlek, McMinnville, and Mrs. J.E. Cavin, Dallas, Texas; two brothers, R.L. Bennett, Dallas, and Ed Bennett, Jasper; two sisters, Mrs. Sallie Webster, Daytona Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Mattie Fritz, Dallas.
