HomeCemeteriesSnodgrass Cemetery

Located approximately 2 miles south of Bristol on Highway 126 on the right rear of a private residence. It is surrounded by evergreen trees and situated just prior to the intersection with Carden Hollow Road. Inscriptions taken by Robert Elsea (1987) and Jane Gottschall (1993.) At the entrance to the cemetery are a couple of unidentifiable, very old stones, next to Sarah G. Barker. Sarah’s maiden name was Lyon, and it is my belief that the stones are for her father Jacob Lyon, and his wife Ann Snodgrass Lyon. They once owned the land where the cemetery is located. They have been added to the listings. Jane Gottschall

Snodgrass Cemetery — 5 Comments

  1. My name is Matthew M. Gangwer,M.D., and the Snodgrass Cemetery is located directly adjacent to my property. I have been the sole caretaker of the cemetery for the last 11 years. Recently, an individual who resides in the house behind ours has decided to utilize a right-of-way of his (which separates our property from the cemetery)to build a driveway into his property, and there is a definite possibility that he may damage cemetery property during the construction process. What can be done to keep this from happening?

    • since you have taken care of the cemetery does the name Martha Ann Morris ring a bell. I have a relative that shows burial at Snodgrass and I am trying to get pics of headstones

  2. Hope the cemetery has remained intact. Just found out that members of the Cox family are buried there. They are distant relatives of my husband. Thank you for being a caretaker.

  3. I’ve been looking for my grandpa’s head stone Lee cross I know he is there but don’t know where exactly can someone help me at this Snodgrass cemetery
