Looking for information on Vines TURNER and son John Oliver TURNER after John's birth in Ripley, TN on 1/13/1881. I would like to know who his mother was, and the siblings of John if any. My ggf, Louis C. OLDS, b. 26 Feb 1852 in Tn. d. 11 Feb 1917 Clay County, AR. I match census records to him in Lauderdale County, TN. in the household of Arthur Olds 48, and Elizabeth 29. All siblings and their ages appear correct. In Early Marriages of Lauderdale County I find Arthur OLDS married Effe CHRCHFIELD (Cruchfield?) 24 Dec 1840 & Arthur OLDS married Mary DAVIS 26 April 1849. I am having trouble locating information on my fifth-great grandfather, COL. GEORGE COLBERT. I have connected my family tree up to that generation, but no farther. Information I currently have indicates COL. COLBERT was born about 1764 in Lauderdale County, TN, died about 1839. Any information you could pass along regarding this surname would be wonderful. My other 5th-great grandfather, WILLIAM McLISH died about 1803 in Robertson County, TN. I know he was married to a Chickasaw woman, and I would welcome any information you could furnish on the McLISH's. Greetings: Am interested to know what Forsyth(e)line information you may have traced. Am great grandson of William Stanton Forsyth, 1849-1913, first located in 1870 census (b. TN) in Lauderdale County, Tennessee, Hales Point, on the Mississippi River. Listed occupation was "Rafting." Head of household was "Pamelia" a 52? yr old female. Have no other known information on father of William Stanton Forsyth. William Stanton Forsyth bought 640 acres (1873) at Hales Point, married, operated store, cotton gin, cut timber, reared large family there until death at mature age. A 1907 county birth record for his last child cited William Stanton Forsyth's birthplace as McNairy County, Tennessee. Much research in McNairy County, Tennessee has turned up no credible links among the Forsyth(e) families that are well documented there. Because of the 1870 census "rafting" occupation, we think he (they) may have journeyed from the northern states to West Tennessee via Mississippi/Ohio Rivers. Suspect the entry in the 1870 census record stating William Stanton Forsyth's birthplace as TN could be bogus info. Any ideas/thoughts? Hope to hear from you. Sterling C. Forsythe, III

Francis Marion HUTCHISON was born 2/1/1854. His mother died at his birth or shortly thereafter. His father was killed in the civil war. We are attempting to find his birth records - place of birth and name of his parents. Any info or leads would be appreciated.
My paternal grandmother Lorene Mitchell WHITE married John WHITE approx 1900. From 1930 they lived in Halls. Her parents I am told were MITCHELL and DUNAVANT (spelling?)I believe John White was from Lauderdale County also. Lorene was his 2nd wife. John died approx 1943, Lorene died 1967. Am trying to find a link between Frederick Barfield, who moved from Rutherford Co., Tn to Lauderdale Co., Tn, around 1815(ish)...They signed many deeds, etc. together in Rutherford..along with Fred's son, James. Searching for Laura Aveline Vandiver Warren Gunter. She was in Lawrence Co. census in 1880,living in the house with her son, Chester Gunter. Laura was married to Stark S. Warren in Lawrence co May 19 1861. He was evidently killed aft.Civil War. She remarrried ?? Gunter. She had one son by Warren, Coleman Calvin B. 1864 The only other children I know of is Chester Gunter. He was killed in Memphis in 1927. Was buried in Halls, Tn. Chester was born Jan 12 1883. Thompson Bros. Funeral Home had arrangements of funeral. I would like to know where Chester was buried. Maybe I could find out something about Laura, who was my gg grandmother when she was a Warren.
