I am searching for information regarding my ancestor John M. CASBURN b.about 1816. He came to Lauderdale County between 1847 and 1850. He served as a constable in 1850. John is listed on the 1850 Tennessee census as living in Ripley with his wife Elizabeth W. COLE and his children Caroline W. and Thomas R. There were two more children born to this union between 1850 and 1854 their names were William R. and John C. John M. CASBURN stated that he was a watchmaker and was born in England. He apparently arrived in Tennesse with his brother Robert CASBURN who lived with F.M. CHRISTMAN and family in Durhamville. There is no other mention in Tennessee records of John M. or his brother Robert. I would be interested in any information that is available. It is believed that John died in Ripley and his wife and children returned to her home in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee.
