Warrens Bluff – Winter of 1918/1919

from the research of Charles and Brenda Fiddler

The village was established with the building of the Tennessee Midland Railroad from Lexington to Perryville. (The route was called The Peavine.) Warrens Bluff was named in honor of Dr. William H. Warren who donated the land for the depot seen on the right of the photo. Walking on the tracks are Cora Bartholomew Stanfill, Myrtle Bartholomew McPeake with son Paul, and Fanny Holmes Ussary. Charlie Bartholomew sits on the stack of cross-ties (left).
