J. P. TROUTT FAMILY

Chapter XIV

Rev. Jacob Pierce Troutt was born at Sharon, Tenn. in Weakley County. The son of John and Sally Emma Hansboro Troutt, he had one brother, Homer T. Troutt and three sisters, Mrs. Lena Vaughan, of Sharon, Mrs. Anna Corbin of Jerseyville, Ill, and Mrs. Eula Ganaway of St. James, Missouri. Also a brother and sister who died in infancy.

He received the call to preach when in his teens. A bright light appeared in his bedroom one night after he retired. He was alarmed at first but God told him he wanted him to preach the gospel. He began his preparation and started his ministry at Parsons, Tenn. in 1928 and 1929. He served Bath Springs Circuit, Randolph Circuit in Hardin, Ky. and Hickory Valley Circuit in South Tennessee.

He met and married Maude Aaron while he was pastor at Parsons Methodist Church. They were married in September of 1929. They have a son, Horace Eugene Troutt, born June 28, 1939 and a daughter, Raymell Troutt Kennedy, born April 25,1932. She married Robert Eugene Kennedy in 1954 and they have a teen age son Darrell and an adopted daughter, Darlene.

Maude Aaron Troutt's father was Andrew Aaron and her mother was Dora Tucker Aaron. Mrs. Troutt had three sisters, Mrs. Lona Johnson, Bath Springs, Mrs. Ona Spain, Scotts Hill and Earlis Aaron, Bath Springs and one brother, Cledus Aaron who was killed in a car accident in 1944.

Mrs. Troutt dreamed of meeting a young man, dressed in a brown suit, and carrying a suitcase and that she fell madly in love with him. Actually this was the beginning of the romance between her and Rev. Troutt. He was carrying a suitcase and wearing a brown suit when they met.

Rev. Troutt passed away in 1951 and is buried at Adkisson Cemetery. His wife is living.
