Joseph Matthew Rogers.
Born May 6  1899.
Died Sept 19 1952

He worked in the coal mine's Rex no. 1 and 2. He was married to Effie Lamb Rogers born Mar 23 1907. They had four children Carl Edward Rogers, Cleda Lorraine Rogers, Bobbie Jean Rogers Wright, and ,Joseph Matthew Rogers Jr., who was killed by a train in 1945.

Joseph Matthew Rogers'  parents were Joe and Sarah E. Rogers, both born in 1853.Joseph Matthew Rogers ran a small business in Lafollette till he died. He worked also at Tennessee Eastman corporation.

His work was essential to the production of the atomic bomb, thereby contributing to the successful conclusion of World War 2. He was awarded a certifcate in appreciation of effective service, dated August 6, 1945

Effie Lamb Rogers
Born March 23, 1907
Died March 5, 1999

In the picture below is Effie Lamb Rogers with her daughter,. Cleda l. Rogers on the left.

Effie Lamb Rogers parents were Emory Lamb an Janie Lamb. Emory, also known as Preacher Lamb.

The Lambs worked in the coal mines. Rex no 1 and 2 mines. Jessie Lamb, ffie's brother was killed in Rex no 1 mine by a motor in 1915. Jessie Lamb was born July 1898.

Effie Lamb was married to Joseph Matthew Rogers, who was born May 6, 1899.
Effie and Joseph had two son's: Carl Edward Rogers, born Feb 13, 1939, and Joesph Matthew Rogers Jr., who was killed by a train in Lafollette in 1945.

Effie and Joseph also had two daughters: Bobbie Jean Rogers Wright , and Cleda Lorraine Rogers. Bobbie Jean Rogers married Paul Wright. Paul Wright worked for the Campbell County sherriffs dept. and the Llafollette police dept. He was killed in 1977 in car accident.

She was married to Carl Edward Rogers .born Feb 13 1939.

Her father was William Bill Boshears. Her mother Ida Boshears.

Her brother was Earnie Boshears,.sister Susie Boshears,
Uncle Alvis Boshears, Carl Baird former county commisioner, Aunt's Bessie Baird. Ruby Sheckles, Polly Lynch, Bulah Boshears.  A host of other Boshears family including Cousin Melvin Boshears county commissner.  Present 2008.  

She has 4 children, Ricky Edward Rogers. Eddie Wayne Rogers, Christopher Lynn Rogers, Carl Edward Rogers Jr.

She worked in the Lafollette shirt factory.

Her father and mother in law were  Joseph Matthew Rogers and Effie Lamb Rogers..

Boshears Rogers

died Sept  22. 2006

He was married to Christine Lynn Boshears born Sept 30 1939. They had 4 children : Eddie Rogers , Ricky Edward Rogers, Christopher Lynn Rogers, Carl Edward Rogers Jr.

His father was Joseph Matthew Rogers and  Effie Lamb Rogers. His grandparents were Joe Rogers and Sarah E. Rogers born 1853

His brother was Joseph Matthew Rogers Jr., who was   killed by a train in lafollette in 1945.

His sisters were Bobbie Jean Rogers Wright andCleda Lorraine Rogers.

Emory and Janie lamb were his maternal grandparents, Emory Lamb was known as Preacher Lamb.

The Rogers family worked in the coal mines Rex no I and 2. He served In the u.s. Army. He lived in Lafollette all his life . He also worked in constuction as well as the coal mines.
