Census Information
- 1790 Census: The state of Tennessee was not created until
1796. The area that became Campbell County was Indian Lands in 1790.
- 1800 Census: Campbell County was not created until 1806. In
1800, the southeastern part of Campbell County was located in Grainger
County. The remaining part of Campbell County was still Indian Lands.
Unfortunately, the entire 1800 Census Schedules for Tennessee were lost.
- 1810 Census: By 1810, Campbell County was a legal county.
Unfortunately, all of Tennesses's 1810 Schedules were lost except for
Rutherford and parts of Grainger County.
- 1820 Census: Federal census schedules are missing for all
counties of the marshal's district of East Tennessee: Anderson, Bledsoe,
Blount, Campbell, Carter, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Greene, Hamilton,
Hawkins, Jefferson, Knox, McMinn, Marion, Monroe, Morgan Rhea, Sevier,
Sullivan and Washington. The TNGenWeb Project has an online description of

- 1830 Census: The 1830 Federal
Census for Campbell County does exist and is the first available census
for Campbell County. The TNGenWeb Project has an online description of

- 1840 Census: The 1840 Federal Census for Campbell County was
transcribed and donated to the Campbell County TNGenWeb Project by
Leslie Collier. The TNGenWeb Project has an online description of

- 1850 Census: The 1850 Federal Census for Campbell County was
transcribed and donated to the Campbell County TNGenWeb Project by Rick
Chambers. The TNGenWeb Project has an online description of

- 1870 Census: The 1870 Federal
Census for Campbell County is not yet available online. The TNGenWeb
Project has an online
description of the 1870 Census . There are no mortality schedules
for TN in 1870.
- 1890 Census: All of the Federal Censuses were lost for the
year 1890. A special census, known as the 1890 Veteran's Census, is
available. It contains a listing of Union (and some Confederate)
Veterans.
- 1900 Census: The 1900 Federal Census for Campbell County is

- 1910 Census: The 1910 Federal Census for Campbell County is
