Welcome!

Welcome to the new Decatur Co. TNGenWeb site! This site has been dormant for quite some time. We are working to revitalize the web site with a new look and some new and some old content. The old content will come from www.tnyesterday.com and will be integrated over a period of time. The new content will, hopefully, come from you to build on the base of information that is available to current and future researchers.

I look forward to working with you to advance historical and genealogical research related to Decatur Co. TN.

  1. It is so good of you to take the time and make the effort to record for posterity these things about our beloved Decatur County. Updating is good. If I can help in any way, let me know.

  2. Hey Jerry, just “took you on as friend” on FB. Little about me; cousin to Paul Keeton, also class of ’59 from DCHS, parents were Latham Blount & Sallie Keeton Blount. Joined the USAF in ’62-’89, pretty much left Decatur County for numerous locations and settled in San Antonio, TX.

    1. It is good to hear from you. In the ultimate Southern tradition, “I have picked cotton with your mama!” I remember her as a very fine and entertaining lady. Thank you for your comment.

  3. Mr. Butler, I look forward to what I will learn at this site in the future. My father was John Smith Stout of Decatur TN. His father was James (Jim) Wylie Stout, his mother was Bess Victoria Smith. I have been trying to learn of any living relatives through my father’s line without much success. My great, great, grandfather, William Stout had 3 sons. The third, Thomas D. had two sons Harwood (Harry) and Thomas D. Jr. I am hoping I will be able if they had any sons. No info found yet. I look forward to what information I can glean in the future from your site.
