Bitten by a Mad Dog

Carroll County Democrat, March 19, 1887

Miss Cora Kelley and Miss Sallie Dixon, who live four miles east of Decaturville, were bitten by a mad dog last Monday.  It seems that the young ladies were gathering turnip greens near Mr. Kelley’s residence, when a large dog sprang upon then and bit them several times and almost tore their dresses to pieces.  The dog was killed, but not until he had bitten dogs, cattle and horses in the neighborhood. The young ladies were taken to a mad stone.
