Rites Today For S.J. Alexander

Funeral services for Sam J. Alexander, 72, retired farmer and salesman, will be held this (Friday) afternoon at 3 o’clock at the chapel of High Funeral Home. Officiating will be Allen Phy, minister of Central Church of Christ, and burial will be in Mt. View cemetery.  Mr. Alexander died at his home on West End avenue Tuesday afternoon at 3:15 o’clock. He had been ill for a week.  Samuel Joseph Alexander was a native of Cannon county, born August 27, 1879. His parents were Jefferson Alexander and Jane Hawkins Alexander and he was married to Miss Nettie Jane Davis.  She survives.  Mr. Alexander for a number of years operated  a farm on Sparta Road and in recent years had been engaged as a salesman. He was a member of the Church of Christ.  He is survived by two sons, J.P. Alexander, McMinnville, and S.L. Alexander, Glendale, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Irving Myers, McMinnville, and Miss Marie Alexander, Glendale, Calif. Also a brother, I.P. Alexander, Campbellsville, Ky., and one sister, Mrs. Josie Jones, Okemah, Okla.  Arrangements are in charge of High’s.
