Mattie M. Austin, 78

McMinnville resident and Van Buren County native Mattie M. Austin, 78, died April 25 at Glen Oakes Nursing Home in Shelbyville. A hair stylist and a member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Atlia Sparkman Miller; and was preceded in death by one daughter, Margie Ann Austin in 1976; and her husband, Edward J. Austin in 1962. She is survived by one son, James E. Austin of McMinnville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda J. and Richard Bost of McMinnville and Linda and Maurice Young of Athens; sister-in-law, Geneva Ferrell of McMinnville; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held Tuesday at Mt. View Cemetery with Richard Bost officiating.  Love-Cantrell & Cope Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
