BAILEY. My great, great, great grandfather, John B.(?) Bailey and his son, John Ruben Bailey show in the 1850 and 1860 Census' for owning very large amounts of land in Stewart County. 1850 shows John, with his son John in the home (6 years old), owning 8000 acres there. We are trying to get as much information on them as possible. They both show born in Tenn. but I can't find anything back beyond John born abt. 1796. They also have some things in Hinderson Co. and John Ruben later moved to Stoddard Co., Missouri. Can you tell me anything about these two? John B. was married to Lucinda ?, and John R. to Mary Drucilla McAnally.

BAILEY. I've tried for some time now to find links to my Bailey family who seemed to be fairly well off in Stewart Co. in 1850. John T. Bailey is my g-g-g grandfather who appears on the 1850 census owning what appears to be 8,000 acres in District 8, Stewart County. I believe his father to be Henry Bailey, but that's a guess as one of his children were named Henry and John T. was listed as executor of his will on a court document allowing him to let Henry Bailey's house and sell one negro. I'm stuck there and can't find anything more on Henry other than a tax list from 1810 forward. Can you please let me know where to look? Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance,

FANNON, CRAVENS. Hello, I am researching my fathers family who lived in and around Stewart County. I'm especially interested in two people. My Great-grandparents.
Corban CRAVENS, born about 1835 in Trigg Co Kentucky; married Sarah Hargrove. I found them on the 1880 Census in Trigg Co with two sons. Josiph and Thomas (my GG-Grandfather). This is the only information that I have been able to find on Corban.
Sarah CRAVENS is found again on the 1900 Dist 1 Stewart County census. She remarried a John FANNON in 1894, Stewart County.
The 1910 census of Civil Dist 6 Haywood County list John and Sarah again.
My grandmother told me that Sarah FANNON died about 1912 in Brownsville. Which Brownsville, I'm not sure.
My problem is that there are two Brownsvilles. One in Stewart County and another in Haywood County.
I'm trying to find her death certificate. Where to I search? Is there one place to write too or call that will cover both counties?
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely,

MCNATT. I'm interested in information about Mackey MCNATT and his wife Dinah MCNATT. They settled in Stewart County about 1806 and had approximately 640 acres on or near Shelby Creek, probably in proximity to BRANDON land holdings. (Their daughter Sarah MCNATT married George BRANDON.) Mackey MCNATT died between 1810-1811 and Dinah MCNATT died sometime after 1829. I’m specifically looking for death dates and/or burial locations for Mackey and Dinah MCNATT and George and Sarah BRANDON. Thanks very much!
