James Leeper Deed to Jno Endsley (1821)

THIS INDENTURE made this sixth day of December 1821 between James Leeper of the one part and John Endsley of the other part, both of the County of Bedford and State of Tennessee.

WITNESSETH, that the said James Leeper for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said John Endsley, the receipt wheeof is acknowledged by Him the said James Leeper and himself fully satisfied therewith Hath bargained, sold & conveyed to him the aid John Endsley, a certain tract or parcel of land lying in the County of Bedford & State aforesaid on the waters of Mud and Rock Creek, both waters of Duck River.

BEGINNING at an Ash and Elm on the Section Line thence North along Elbert Armstrong line Eighty two poles to an Ash & Elm on La(BLURRED??] line. Thence along Hart’s line ninety seven 1/2 poles to a stake and pointers, Two Hickorys and post oak between said elm, thence South eighty two poles to a stake, pointers, Hickory, Elm and bud Hornbeam & Ash. Thence West ninety seven 1/2 poles to the beginning, Containing fifty acres be the same more or less.

TOGETHER with all the appurtenances therewith belonging to him the said John Endsley his heirs and assigns forever and he the said James Leeper doth agree to and with the said John Endsley that the before described tract or parcel of land and premises He will Warrant and forever defend against all persons or manner of persons whatever Lawfully claiming the same by laww or otherwise.
