Shroyer, Marcella Rae
Marcella was born on March 1, 1939 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Raymond and Lillian Johannes and was the younger sister to the late Dolores (Johannes) Clark. She married her longtime friend and love, Verlie E Shroyer, in 1960 who preceded her in death in 2007. Together, they had two daughters: Sheryl (Shroyer) Pierce and Tina (Shroyer) Rutkowski who preceded her in death in 2011. She is survived by her youngest daughter, Sheryl (Shroyer) Pierce and her husband, John. She leaves behind her grandchildren: Ashley (and husband, Brandon), Evan (and wife, Katelynn); and four great-grandchildren: McKenzie, Madisyn, Jaxson and Brynlee. She also leaves behind her beloved friend Richard Talbert.
Marcella, or “Nana” as she was more affectionately known as, unconditionally and unselfishly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her time was most well spent with family, cooking in the kitchen, or teaching her great-granddaughters how to make crafts and cookies. She was an avid, lifelong gardener who spread the joys of gardening to the rest of her family. She was an extremely skilled seamstress and made the most beautiful crocheted blankets that her family will now cherish forever.
Marcella Rae Shroyer will be remembered as a loving friend and a devoted mother and grandmother. Her grace, compassion, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
