Scoggins, Sheila Kay
Shelia Kay Scoggins, of Lyles, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the age of 64.
Shelia was born in Dickson, Tennessee, on September 5, 1961, to Edward Mitchell Stone and the late Sara Lou Lillian Martin Stone.
She leaves behind a family who meant everything to her, including her sons, Shane (Shayna) Scoggins and Dalton (Kristi Ohlschwager) Scoggins; her son-in-love, Blake Stone; her father, Edward Mitchell Stone; her sisters, Deborah (Bob) Rowland-Shively, Sherry (Harold) Mitts, and Misty (Darren) Kennedy; and her brother, Mitchel (Cindy) Stone. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Ali, Kaylee, Shelby, and John-Luke, who lovingly called her “Nanna,” a title she cherished deeply. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss her dearly.
In addition to her mother, Shelia was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Stone.
Shelia’s working life reflected her creativity, dedication, and love for people. She began her career with Levi Strauss & Company and later fulfilled a dream of owning and operating her own florist shop, where she found great joy in creating beautiful wreaths and floral arrangements. Most recently, she worked at Lowe’s, where her kind heart and helpful spirit made a lasting impression on both customers and coworkers.
Shelia was also a familiar and beloved presence at Dillinger’s The Hideout, where she was affectionately known as “Bar Mom.” She embraced that role wholeheartedly, offering encouragement, laughter, and a caring presence to so many.
Above all, Shelia loved her family and friends with her whole heart. She had a way of making people feel welcome, cared for, and valued, and her warmth and strength will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation with the family will be 21 March 2026 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and 22 March 2026 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. – Hickman County. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 PM with burial to follow at Bon Aqua Church of Christ Cemetery, Bon Aqua, TN.
