Mable Murphy Goodwin, 85, resident of Columbia, died Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted at 12 noon Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Peery officiating. Burial followed in West Point Cemetery. The Lewis County native, she was born August 15, 1925 to the late Mason E. Murphy and Freda McWilliams Murphy. On April 20, 1946, she married Curtis Goodwin who preceded her in death March 25, 2004. She was retired from Publix Shirt Factory. She was a member of West Point Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She is survived by two sons Willis C. Goodwin and Vernon M. (Linda) Goodwin, both of Columbia; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; sister, Ruby Sharp of Hohenwald; four brothers Willard (Donna) Murphy of Columbia, J.W. Murphy of Spring Hill, Walton (Judy) Murphy of Franklin and Leslie (Ann) Murphy of Columbia; three sisters-in-law, Faye Murphy, Doris Murphy and Joanne Murphy; and one brother-in-law, Virgil Seiber. She was preceded in death by a sister Betty Murphy Seiber and three brothers, Howard Murphy, Eugene Murphy and Horace E.
