Goins, Shirley Jean
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freed Goins, and her daughter, Tina Myatt.
She is survived by her daughter, Ginger (Danny) Wise; sisters Helen (Douglas) Tidwell, Margaret Allen, and Brenda (Wayne) Tidwell; brother Melvin (Carol) Allen; granddaughters Hannah, who was her caregiver (Chris) Brennan and Sarah Taylor, who was her chauffeur; great-grandchildren Emma Brennan and Mason Brennan; and son-in-love Donald Myatt.
Shirley began her working career at Levi’s, where she faithfully worked until her retirement in the early 1990s.
More than anything, Shirley devoted her life to serving the Lord. She was a minister and pastor for nearly 50 years, faithfully pouring her heart into ministry and caring for her congregation. She loved to fellowship with others, pray for those in need, and share the message of God’s love with everyone she met.
Shirley was one of the finest people you could ever hope to know. She was loving, caring, and full of life. Her family meant the world to her, and she cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.
Many who visited her home would often find her praying or reading her Bible, a reflection of the deep faith that guided her life. She was truly a light to many people, and her greatest joy was serving God and doing His work.
Shirley was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation with the family will be 16 March 2026 from 1:00 – 8:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. – Hickman County. Funeral Services will be held 17 March 2026 at 11:00 AM at McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. – Hickman County with burial to follow at Hilltop Cemetery, Lyles, TN.
