Hello Barry,

My husband and I will be traveling through Gibson County next month as part of my genealogy research project.  My grandfather William C Horner was born in Dyer in 1895; he was the son of Robert Lee Horner.  According to the census records, Robert’s family moved to Obion and that’s where my grandfather spent most of his childhood.

In the 1900 census the family was recorded in Civil District 21, Gibson, TN In the 1910 census the family was recorded in Civil District 8, Obion, TN.  Is there a way to find out the physical location of these Civil Districts?  I haven’t worked much with census records.  Also, is there a way to find out the schools that existed a hundred years ago?
