A new rural mail route between Nashville and Lexington, Tenn., will begin service Monday, going through Centerville, Linden, Pope, Perryville, Decaturville, Parsons, Beacon, Darden, and Chesterville, it was announced Saturday by W. S. McKinstry, superintendent of mails here.
The change in delivery method was necessitated by the discontinuance of train service between Lexington and Perryville.
The automobile carrying the mail will leave Nashville at 3:40 a. m. arriving in Lexington at 8:45 a. m. The return trip will begin at Lexington at noon, and Nashville will be reached at 5:15 p. m. No deliveries will be made on Sunday.
