Morrison and Goads — 3 Comments

  1. Hello,
I hope you and your family are doing well when/if you find this message!

I hope you don’t mind me contact you; it’s obvious you’ve done much research on the Morrison family.

I’m trying to find the parents of “my” Millie/Milly Margaret Morrison. I have hit a brick wall! This is what I have: She was born approx 1809 in Tennessee. She married John F Willey in the late 1820’s. (BTW, I have looked for marriage records, wills, land deeds, etc.) All of their children were born in Tennessee, with the entire family moving to Illinois sometime in the late 1840’s. They had children by the names of:

William Henry, Isaac Wilson (my line),Nancy Elizabeth, Jonathan Carrol, and Mary Catherine. Do any of these people mean anything to you??

    God Bless!
    Jeri

  2. I have a book that belonged to Johannah Goad, mother of John Sevier that was passed through my branch of the Roberts family from the top of Bays Mountain. Miranda Roberts, daughter of Lewis and Mary Ivy Roberts, married Peter Goad, son of William Goad. This book came from Ray Roberts to me before he died (my mother was a Roberts) and inside is written in pencil “Steal not this book for fear of shame.” “Hannah Goads” It is a Quaker book published in 1757 or 1758.
