TAYLOR, Arthur Robert, stationer; born (near) Holly Springs, Miss., November 8, 1851; son Dr. William V. and Mary C. (Jarratt) TAYLOR; English descent; paternal grandparents Dr. William V. and Fannie (Henderson) TAYLOR, maternal grandparents Rev. N.R. and Sarah (Jarratt) JARRATT; educated Memphis and Christian Brothers’ College, St. Louis, Mo.; married Timmie Treadwell June 21, 1880; member Chickasaw Guards and Hatchie Coon Club; Brig-Gen., commanding N.G.S.T. from 1893-1906; served Tennessee National Guards 21 years; was elected Lieut.-Col., then Col., and finally Brig.-Gen.; resigned in 1896; took part and was actively engaged in all National Guards’ matters from 1874 until resignation in 1896; President of the A.R. Taylor Company.
