JONES, John Grady, farmer; born Buffalo, Tenn., Feb 9, 1874; Irish descent; son of Samuel G. and Josie (Webb) JONES; father’s occupation farmer; paternal grandparents Dennis G. and Martha (Atkins) JONES; maternal grandparents William and Martha (Whitson) WEBB; graduated at Lebanon, Tenn., Jan. 13, 1895; received L.L. B., degree; married Julia CHAPPELL Feb. 25, 1897; member Knights of Pythias; Democrat; member of Legislature in 1899; defeated for Congress by L. P. Padgett in 1910; all of his life has been devoted to farming interests.
