S/Sgt Alvis L. Teague was assigned to I Company 255th Infantry Regiment on 20 Sep 1943 while the unit was at Camp Van Dorn, MS.   He went overseas with his regiment in November 1944 arriving in Marseille, France on 8 Dec 44.  From there his unit moved to the Sarreguemines area of France where it engaged the enemy at the end of December 1944.  His unit fought through Germany down to the Southeast and finally, after crossing the Danube River near Ulm, Germany his unit was pulled off the line for a rest late April, early May 1945.   S/Sgt Teague was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge and a Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Service.  S/Sgt Teague died on Oct 03, 2008 and is buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Flint Michigan. He was a native of Weakley County and was born  in Dresden on Nov 21, 1922. He was 85 yrs. old.

This picture was taken just after the war in Marlox Germany in 1945. He fought at the battle of the bulge.
