GPS Location: 35° 15¢ 10²N, 87° 37¢ 55²W

The Cole Cemetery is located on the hill across from the Lower Glenrock rest area on the Natchez Trace Parkway. To reach the cemetery, at the crossroads just south of the rest area, travel east for .01 mile. Turn left and go about .15 miles to the cemetery. There is one grave with no marker but it is situated among the Creecy graves and is most likely a Creecy child.

The Clifton City Cemetery lies between Main Street and the new highway #114. To reach the cemetery, travel Main Street into Clifton, turning left onto Elm Street. Travel through two 4-way-stops for .3 mile. Turn left onto Walnut Street and travel .2 mile. The cemetery is on the hill. This enumeration was done in sections. Section “A” was enumerated row-by-row starting on the first row near the large pine tree and going south. This section is located on the immediate right traveling up the hill. Section “B” & “C” were regretfully done in alphabetical order due to random grave locations especially in section “B”. This enumeration was completed March 21, 2011

LOCATION: According to Mrs. Edwinna STRICKLIN of Lutts, Tennessee, there is supposed to be an old CHOATE Cemetery on the ridge between Holly Creek and Shoals Creek, just west of the Wayland Springs Road and about three miles north of Iron City, Tennessee. LOCATION: This cemetery is at Bachelor’s Bend across the Buffalo River from the Topsy community. The cemetery is situated on the orginal Arthur Choate farm, later owned by James F. Meredith, remaining in the Meredith family until the deaths his son Joe L. Meredith and Joe’s wife Mattie.

Old Chestnut Grove Church and Cemetery

This cemetery is located on the ridge running between the road to the Bevis Community and the road to the Balentine Cemetery. A faint dirt road runs by the cemetery between the two roads mentioned. A gate is across the road, which has not been used for years. The last person buried there was Salley Barkley Hayes, mother of George Barkley. At one time there were some tombstones with inscriptions. The Dulins, Coopers, and Barkleys are buried here. There was once a log building used for a church and schoolhouse. When a new building was built about a mile away, the old site was abandoned.

The Centenary Cemetery is located in Wayne County, Tennessee between the Alabama state line and Walnut Grove, Tennessee on Second Creek Road. Traveling north from Alabama, go about 3.6 miles and turn right on Second Creek Rd. at the base of a long hill on State Highway 69. The cemetery is on a hill on the left approximately 1-½ miles off Hwy. 69. 


This enumeration was begun on the north end and eastern edge of the cemetery near where two large cedar trees stand today. Every effort has been made to list the rows of graves as neatly as possible, however rows in the older portion are out of line badly making it somewhat difficult to do so. There are a few graves marked only with rocks before the start of identifiable rows. The section west of the circle drive consisting of rows 13 through 17 was opened in 1991.

Cedar Grove Cemetery is located off TN highway 227 in Wayne County. To reach the Cedar Grove Cemetery, turn east off highway 13 onto highway 227 and travel 1 mile. Turn left and travel 1.5 miles and the cemetery is on the left of the road in front of and beside the church.
