Choate? Cemetery

LOCATION: According to Mrs. Edwinna STRICKLIN of Lutts, Tennessee, there is supposed to be an old CHOATE Cemetery on the ridge between Holly Creek and Shoals Creek, just west of the Wayland Springs Road and about three miles north of Iron City, Tennessee. It is believed that Thomas CHOATE and his wife are buried here but this has not been confirmed.

LOCATION: This cemetery is at Bachelor’s Bend across the Buffalo River from the Topsy community. The cemetery is situated on the orginal Arthur Choate farm, later owned by James F. Meredith, remaining in the Meredith family until the deaths his son Joe L. Meredith and Joe’s wife Mattie.
