Original owner: Josiah Furman Morford Sr., who came to Tennessee in 1820. At his death, the Bible passed into the possession of his eldest son Josiah F. Morford Jr. and his wife, Ann Eliza Lusk; at the death of Josiah F. Morford Jr. it passed to his eldest son John Josiah Morford and his wife Sarah [Sallie] Haden. Their adopted daughter Lucy Cloud Morford Evens [Mrs. Baily Evens, Shelbyville, Tenn.] upon their death gave the Bible to the Magness Memorial Library, McMinnville, Tennessee, where it is kept in the Memorial Room.
