Mackey Cemetery
Located on Tipton Lane, off County Home Road in Blountville, there is no longer any evidence of the exact site of this cemetery. The topographical map lists this as a “Mackey Cemetery.” A resident told us (the Cemetery Survey Team of Northeast Tennessee) that many years ago, there was one marker, but it had been moved several times and the original location was lost. A descendant came through sometime in the 1970s and insisted on taking the stone with her. She was going to reset the stone on a knoll, even though the one remaining person who knew the approximate location told her that the location was not correct. She never returned with the marker.
