White Cemetery (Lindamood Cemetery)
Most long-time residents of the community where this cemetery is located still call it Lindamood Cemetery. It was copied by Gene A. Morrell in August 1978. Since then names of people who have died have been added by Mary C. Morrell, and names of people with unmarked graves added. It is believed that some Revolutionary soldiers were buried here in unmarked graves. It is known that Confederate soldiers were buried here. One has a marked grave – William B. Millhorn. There are several unmarked graves, broken stones, and markers too worn to read. Some of the graves were marked with field stones which have been removed from the graves and the graves are now unknown. ~ Gene A. Morrell & Mary Catherine Morrell
The cemetery is located at the end of the Rainbow Bridge that crosses Boone Lake at the end of Enterprise Road. The cemetery is mowed and well kept. There may be as many as 50 – 60 unmarked graves.
Photographed and transcribed 28 May 2003 by Donna Briggs and Bob Shell, members of the Cemetery Survey Team of Northeast Tennessee.
