Gregg Cemeteries of Bays Mountain
Located inside the boundaries of Bays Mountain Park are three small cemeteries. Two are referred to as the Lower Gregg Cemetery and the Upper Gregg Cemetery. The third is the Quillen Cemetery and is in Hawkins County. The park wishes the exact locations to be kept private to deter vandalism. For this reason, the GPS locations are not revealed.
The Lower Gregg Cemetery contains six graves marked by fieldstones and one or two apparent unmarked graves. The Upper Gregg Cemetery contains about 30 graves marked by fieldstones and possibly some unmarked graves.

Lower Gregg Cemetery
I stumbled upon the Lower Gregg Cemetery last fall while taking a shortcut through the woods. It turns out that the J.W.H. buried there may be in my children’s maternal line, J.W.H. having descended from Ferdinand Harless of Muhlhofen, Germany, according to my research. Do you have any photos JW’s marker?
Thanks,
Joel Buckner
After completing my genealogical research on J.W.H. buried in Lower Gragg Cemetery, it turns out that he is my children’s third cousin three times removed. Cool.

You did sent me a photo but since then I have had a major computer crash and I have lost the photo. If you still have it on file somewhere could you please re-send it? It turns out John W. Harless IS my kids maternal third cousin three times removed.
Thanks,

David Ivy Roberts is my 2nd great Grandfather. Ivy is anticipated based on research to tie to his Mothers family Mary D. (Polly) Ivy. I need to come and see this grave yard next time I am in Kingsport TN to see family.
Could you privately message me the coordinates/directions. I’d love to see these and be closer/know more about my family
