KINGSPORTWilliam Harold Brewer, 63, passed away Thursday (Feb. 3, 2005).  He was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and retired having worked for Pave-Well Paving Company. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ernest Brewer and Thelma Bradley Light Lucas Brewer. Surviving are his daughter, Christine Hood, Church Hill; son, James William Brewer, Kingsport; five grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Light and Kat Light, both of Kingsport and Shirley Mullins, North Carolina; brothers, Rob Brewer, Kingsport and Kenneth Light, Nashville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Sullivan County Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends. KINGSPORTFrances Ann Peters, 70, died of a sudden illness on Wednesday (Jan. 14, 2004) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Peters; father, Worley Bellamy; mother, Alpha Bellamy; and brother, Billie J. Bellamy. Surviving are one son, Jackie Richard Bellamy; one sister, Brenda Tunnell, both of Kingsport; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Sullivan County Cemetery, Blountville with the Rev. Homer Roller officiating. The family requests that no flowers be sent. KINGSPORTArthur (Boyd) Lowe Jr., 30, 3440 Old Beason Well Road, Kingsport, died late Saturday evening (April 24, 2004) at Indian Path Medical Center due to a heart attack. Boyd was born in Abilene, Texas, and had resided in Kingsport for the past 12 years. He graduated from Airport High School in Columbia, S.C. His brother, Tony Lowe preceded him in death. Surviving are his parents, Arthur B. and Alice P. Lowe, Kingsport; two sisters, Debbie Arthur and husband Stephen, Kingsport, and Susie Wood and husband Pat, Watertown, Tenn. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, downtown Kingsport, with Pastor J.W. Depew officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in the Sullivan County Cemetery, Blountville.

 KINGSPORT Bob Carr, 73, went to be with the Lord after a massive heart attack on Saturday (Oct. 9, 2004). He was a former employee of Courtesy Cab Company and a member of (GTCDA) Greater Tri-Cities Darting Association. Surviving are special friends who loved him dearly: Sandy and Ronnie Adams, Terry Biggs, Cindy Barker, Blake Ford, Billy Bishop, Ronald Washburn, friends with the Pub, Wagon Wheel, Darting Association, Pit Stop, Shoney’s, Waffle House on East Stone Drive. Calling hours are from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Wednesday at the Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, with Joel Trigg officiating. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sullivan County Cemetery.

 KINGSPORTCharles “Gunt” Crumley, 74, Kingsport went home to be with Jesus on Thursday morning (Oct. 21, 2004) at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Born in Greene County, he had resided most of his life in Kingsport. Mr. Crumley had served in the U. S. Army and was a retired equipment operator. His parents, Edgar and Lola Mae Crumley preceded him in death. Surviving are two sisters, Georgia McGuire, Kingsport, and Ruth Smith, Newport, Tenn.; two nieces, Linda Cox and husband, Densil, Fall Branch, Laura McGuire, Kingsport; two nephews, Ottie McGuire II and wife, Diane, Kingsport, Myron McGuire and wife, Janet, Jonesborough; great-nieces and great-nephews, Dwayne Cox, Matthew McGuire, Miranda McGuire, Bryan McGuire, Christiana McGuire, and Kimberly “Kimmy” McGuire; several cousins; and special best friend, Howard Wesley Jones. KINGSPORTDonna May Carter, 34, went to be with the Lord on Sunday (Jan. 26, 2003) after a long illness. She was born in Sullivan County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald Carter and Nancy Peters Carter. Surviving are her two sisters, Peggy Carter and Jennifer Carter; her aunts and uncles, Daisy and Andrew White and Sally and Claude William, as well as several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday at Sullivan County Cemetery, Blountville, with the Rev. Wayne Baker officiating. Carter-Trent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

KINGSPORT — David B. Hoffman, 55, 622 Boone St., went to be with the Lord Thursday morning (March 1, 2001) at Greystone Health Care after a lengthy illness. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Lois McFadden Hoffman. Surviving are his ex-wife, Peggy Breeding, Kingsport; one son, David Conerly, Detroit, Mich.; one grandson, John Adam Conerly, Detroit, Mich.; one sister, Carolyn Venditti, Madison Heights, Mich.; and two nieces. KINGSPORT — Ronald Eugene Carter, 65, died Thursday (Sept. 21, 2000) at the home of his daughter in Big Stone Gap, Va. A native of Indiana, he lived most of his life in Kingsport and was a former employee of BFI Waste Co. in Kingsport. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Peters Carter. Surviving are three daughters, Donna Mae Carter, Johnson City, Peggy Sue Light, Big Stone Gap, Va., and Jennifer Ann Carter, Tennessee; and four grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in the County Cemetery in Blountville. Holding Funeral Home, Big Stone Gap, Va., is in charge of the arrangements.

KINGSPORTSteve Wayne Dixon, 51, 2552 Haynes Drive, went home be with the Lord Saturday (July 23, 2000) at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was a life long resident of Sullivan County (Kingsport) and was self-employed. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ollie Mae Bishop Stokes; one brother, William (Bill) Dixon; one sister, Eula Patrick. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Angela Ball Dixon, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Silas (Tammy) Jenkins, Kingsport; one son and daughter-in-law, Billy Wayne Dixon and Leanne Dixon, Church Hill; father, Albert Dixon, Kingsport; granddaughter, Ashley Jenkins; two stepsons, Travis Johnson, Lexington S.C. and Michael Speers, Kingsport; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Sylvia) Payne, Ms. Kathleen Crabtree, both of Kingsport; two brothers, James Eddie Dixon, New Ross, Ind., the Rev. Leonard Dixon, Kingsport; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clyde and Gladys Ball Sr., Kingsport; several nieces and nephews. KINGSPORT – Elmer Lee Williams Jr., 38, passed away unexpectedly Friday (Dec. 6, 2002) in the emergency room of Holston Valley Medical Center. A native of Kingsport, he attended the Salvation Army Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Marshall; grandmother, Northa Pendergrass; and one great-niece. Survivors include his father, Elmer Lee Williams Sr. of Georgia; stepfather, Wedford Marshall of Kingsport; sisters, Elizabeth Williams, Vanessa Parsons and Phyllis Williams, all of Kingsport; brothers, John Williams and Gary Williams, both of Kingsport; 11 nieces and nephews; one great-niece and one great-nephew; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sullivan County Cemetery in Blountville with Captain Steve Terry officiating. KINGSPORT — Sharon Darlene Arnold-Tate, 40, died at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 17, 1999) at Greystone Health Care Center. Born in Kingsport, but had previously made her home in Big Stone Gap , Va. She was previously employed at West Moreland Coal Company in the office. She was of the Methodist faith. Surviving are her parents, James E. Arnold and Mary McCureay Tate, Kingsport; step-father, Jesse Tate, Ocala, Fla.; two sons, Michael L. Price Jr., Kingsport and Joseph W. KINGSPORT — Clarence ‘‘Dal’’ Wallen, 62, of 1350 Pine Street, went to be with the Lord Friday (Feb. 25, 2000) after a lengthy illness. Born in Kingsport, he spent most his entire working life in Detroit, Mich., and recently returned to Kingsport. Mr. Wallen was a member of Dearborn Heights Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Darrin Reeves Wallen; parents, Alex and Cora Lee Wallen; brother, Ernest Kyle Wallen. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Douglas Green, Dearborn Heights, Mich.; two sons and daughter-in-law, Anthony David Wallen, James Gary and Tammy Wallen, all of Taylor, Mich.; six grandchildren, Shannon Teeley, Jason Wallen, Ashley Teeley, Matthew, Dakota Wallen and Chelsea Wallen; two great-grandchildren, Devin and Tayler; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Charles Burks, Kingsport; brother and sister-in-law, James Carlos and Mildred Wallen, Kingsport; ‘‘like a brother’’, Truman Tankersley; and loving cousin, Cora Lee Tankersley; three nieces, Melinda Hartman, Marnita Williams and Sabrina Frayser; great nieces, Maggie Hartman; several cousins and many friends. KINGSPORT — Leon Stephen Williams, 40, 606 East Sevier Ave. Apartment No. 88, died Monday morning (April 17, 2000) at Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center after a brief illness. Mr. Williams was born and lived all of his life here in Kingsport. He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Zion Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lucille Williams, of the home; three sons, Jeremy Williams, Nathan Williams and Stephen Williams; four daughters, Latoya Williams, Patricia Williams, Missy Valentine, Tonya Phillips; eight grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Kern; one brother, Gordon Williams Jr.; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call anytime at the residence of Mrs. Phillips, 842 Dale Street, Kingsport. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Robinson Funeral Services is serving the family of Leon Stephen Williams.

KINGSPORT – Delmar Lee Ward, 51, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning (July 13, 2003) at Indian Path Medical Center. Born in Kingsport, on Oct. 16, 1951, a son of the late Charlie and Loycie Robinson Ward, he had resided in Kingsport his entire life. Mr. Ward was a self-employed painter and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include one brother, James Ward of Kingsport; three nieces, Jamie Bright, Christian Ward and Jessica Ward; one nephew, Nathan Ward; his girlfriend, LaWanda Crawford, Kingsport. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in the East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Rhoton officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following services at the residence of his brother, James Ward, 1309 E. Sevier Avenue, Kingsport. A private burial will take place on Wednesday. KINGSPORT – Franklin Dennison, 68, 818 Oak St., died Saturday (April 12, 2003) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. He was born in Jefferson County, Tenn., but had been a resident of Kingsport most of his life. Surviving are one sister, Minnie Davis, Kingsport; one brother, Jessie Dennison, Nocatee, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral ome, downtown Kingsport. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Johnny Gibson officiating. Interment will follow at Sullivan County Cemetery in Blountville.

KINGSPORT – Michael Lynn “Mike” Harden, 50, of N. Wilcox Drive, went to rest in Jesus’ arms with his family at his bedside early Friday morning (Jan. 14, 2005) at Nashville Metro General Hospital. A lifelong resident of Kingsport, Mike was a certified welder who traveled all over the United States and Mexico with his work.He was a member of Salvation Army Church.He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Jean McGuire Harden. Surviving are his mother, Betty Baker Harden of Kingsport; one daughter, Jessica Dawn Harden of Kingsport; two sons, Joseph Michael Boyd Harden and James Ray Linebaugh, both of Kingsport; two sisters, Deborah Grissom and Sandy Hand, both of Kingsport; one aunt, one uncle, and several nieces and nephews.
