Godbehere Family to Hot Springs Arkansas

William Godbehere was born 10/20/1820 to Thomas and Isabella (Taylor) Godbehere. He married Nancy W. Holland on 2/4/1841. They had 8 children: John T, Allen John (Jahue), Mary Jane, Thomas J, William Daniel, Nancy E, Sabella Angeline and James Monroe. William and his family left Rhea Co. in late 1848 or early 1849. Their original plans were to go to Texas, but once they reached the beautiful Hot Springs, Arkansas area – they decided to stop and declare this area their new home. The Godbehere farm was approximately 8 miles out on the old Little Rock Highway. Many of the Godbehere’s remain in the area to this day.
