DEED of Conveyance; Matthew Neal & James Neal to Richard Philpot for 230 acres of land on Camp Creek, Rhea County, Tennessee: Book E, Page 37. 18 April 1815.
This deed of conveyance made this eighteenth day of April one thousand eight hundred and fifteen between Matthew Neal and James Neal of the County of Rhea and State of Tennessee of the one part and Richard Philpott of the County of Rhea and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said Matthew Neal and James Neal
for and in consideration of three hundred dollars to therein hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath and by these pursuits doth grant, bargain and sell unto the said Richard Philpott his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of land containing two hundred and thirty acres be the same more or less lying in said Rhea County on camp Creek .~ Beginning at two poplars some distance below the boiling spring, one on each side of the Spring branch, thence South fifty five East one hundred and
eleven poles to a black oak and post oak pointer; thence North fifty West sixty poles to stake; Then North thirty five West thirty four Poles to a post oak on a condisionable [?] line by the said partys; thence North thirty eight West fifty six poles too a white oak and hickory; thence North Forty seven West seventy two poles to two dogwoods and hickory at the head of a spring; thence South thirty West to a black oak or Spanish oak marked by Richard G. Waterhouse; thence South Fifty East one hundred poles to the beginning. ~
Being part of a grant No. 223 of six hundred acres issued by the State of North Carolina to Stockley Donelson and dated the 20 day of September 1787. With all and Singular the herieditaments and of appurtenances whatsoever to the said piece or parcel of land belonging or in any wise appertaining, and all the estate, right, title, interest, property claims and demand of them the said Matthew Neal and James Neal of in and to the same is then in law or equity. To have and to hold the said two hundred and thirty acres of land unto the said Richard Philpott his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful title claims and demand of all and every person or person whatsoever will warrant and forever defend by these present. In witness whereof the said Matthew Neal and James Neal hath hereunto set their hand and seal, this day and date above written.
