CARNEY, John Avery, 78, Graysville, Tenn., died Monday morning in Rhea County Hospital. Survivors, one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Smith, Hopkinsville, Ky.; one son, Clark Carney, Hixson, Tenn., five grandchildren; two brothers, Will Carney, Chattanooga; Mynatt Carney, Dayton, Tenn., several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Old Washington Baptist Church with the Rev. J.L. Gates and the Rev. J.E. Cunningham officiating. Interment in Rhea Memory Gardens. Sawyers, Dayton in charge.
