This photograph of an unknown school near Linden, TN is believed to have been made between 1907 and 1911. Laura, Myrtle, and Callie, daughters; and Grady, Willie, and Bryant, sons of Wylie A. Weeks and Francis (Carlton) Weeks are among the students in the picture.
If anyone can identify this school or any of the students in the picture, please contact Linda Mills.
I searched the 1910 Perry County Census for the Weeks children on ancestry.com and found them in Civil District 1, page 2. All of the Weeks children were listed except Myrtle, so this makes me think this photo may date prior to 1911. Perhaps she was married then. The Weeks children identified were born approximately between 1890 and 1899. I am am ancestor to the Ward family who is found on page 3 of the same 1910 census record. Sallie and Reuben Ward have the following children born between 1890 and 1899…Lillie, Mittie, Mary, William, and Grady.I’m pretty certain they would have attended the same school. Grady’s oldest daughter is my grandmother (still very sharp)I will ask her to help identify any these children. I would love any input on Ward identification. Many thanks for posting this.
